Summary:

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and collaborative Mechanical Engineer (8-10 years) to join our Engineering team. This critical role entails end-to-end design ownership of our embedded computing enclosures. Key responsibilities include 3D model development, accurate Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and generating detailed production drawings for both fabricated components and final assemblies. The position reports to the Engineering Director.

Education and Experience:

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and is proficient in operating a 3D CAD system (PTC Creo preferred). Prior experience with rugged embedded computing enclosures is highly desirable.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operating a 3D CAD system, including but not limited to, the creation and maintenance of sheet metal and machined part library models. These library models will be used in drawings and manufacturing documentation (i.e. Bills of Materials, assembly drawings).
  • Interpreting an assembly and break it down into manufacturable subassemblies. 
  • A solid working knowledge of the manufacturing process used in sheet metal fabrication and metal machining (CNC).
  • Completing design verification processes including all required documentation.
  • Providing support, as needed, during the manufacture of embedded computing enclosures.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Design Experience with minimizing EMI and ESD issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in an environment of changing priorities and short timeframes.
  • Experience with VME, VPX and IEEE 1101 preferred.
  • Understanding of orthographic projection and tolerance stackup.

 

The successful candidate will have a firm grasp of the English language with good written and oral communication skills.  Candidate should be a self-motivated individual who executes responsibilities independently and with limited supervision.  Accurate forecasts of the time necessary to complete projects and tasks will be required. 

 

This position is eligible to be worked remotely, but with the ability to travel to Atrenne’s Brockton, MA

location occasionally to meet with the team. Currently, Engineering staff local to Brockton is hybrid, working 3 days in office/2 days at home 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.

 

The target annual salary range for this position is $105,000 – 125,000.
