Performance Validated Hardware for Faster System Integration

Maintaining schedules for new deployable systems becomes more difficult when individually functional components create problems once integrated. Signal integrity issues, power fluctuations, thermal hot spots, and other hardware conflicts can delay application development and system delivery.

This white paper explores how a performance validated hardware platform can reduce those risks by addressing integration challenges before hardware reaches the customer. Atrenne, EIZO Rugged Solutions, and Extreme Engineering Solutions combine their engineering expertise to configure, test, and optimize complete rugged computing systems for defense applications.

The paper presents an integrated example combining Atrenne’s rugged 717-SM full ATR chassis and 3U VPX backplane with EIZO’s Condor GR2-RTX5000 GPGPU processing card and an Extreme Engineering Solutions SBC. Together, these technologies demonstrate how pre-integrated hardware can support demanding embedded computing applications while reducing system-level integration risk.

The approach also addresses size, weight, power, and cost (SWaP-C) through enclosure selection, cooling design, processor configuration, and component-level optimization. By beginning with a validated and SWaP-C-optimized platform, program teams can focus more quickly on application development and testing instead of resolving avoidable hardware integration problems.

That is much stronger than the current description because it gives the search engine clear context around the keyphrase, VPX, rugged computing, system integration, SWaP-C, and defense applications.
